Urgent document delivery: get originals to the right person on time

The contract is signed, but the original still needs to reach another office today. A court bundle is ready, but the receiving desk closes before your usual parcel collection. Urgent document delivery gives prepared paperwork a dedicated journey, with the deadline and the person accepting it agreed before dispatch.

When the original needs its own journey

Signed agreements, deeds, sealed case papers, certificates and tender documents can all need a physical handover. Describe what is moving, how many envelopes or boxes there are and when the sender can release them. A bulky hearing bundle may need more space than a single document wallet.

Our legal document courier service covers transport between agreed collection and receiving points. Court filing, process serving, checking document validity and obtaining a signature on the legal document are separate tasks; do not assume they are included in the journey.

Work back from the receiving deadline

Give the final acceptance time, not simply “ASAP”. An office reception, court counter or client appointment may each have different receiving arrangements. Confirm the department, entrance and named recipient, with an alternative contact if the usual person is unavailable.

For example, a signed contract leaving a London office for a Manchester recipient needs both the earliest release time and the latest handover time. The team assesses the actual route and vehicle availability. For a fixed window, explain it through our time critical courier service before booking.

Keep paperwork sealed and clearly identified

Use protective packaging suited to the contents: a rigid envelope, document wallet or closed archive box, as appropriate. Keep pages together and protect corners and surfaces. Label the receiving details clearly and use a reference that helps the right office identify the consignment.

Avoid displaying unnecessary client, case or personal information on the outside. Tell us about a collection authorisation or recipient identity check in advance, and agree how essential instructions should be shared. A tracking link does not replace your organisation’s document-handling procedures.

Choose direct delivery when the handover matters

A same day document courier can take the agreed consignment directly to its destination without parcel-hub sorting. RGP Trans aims to arrange collection within 60 minutes across mainland UK, subject to location, access and a suitable vehicle being available. We confirm the collection plan before you book.

Tell the sender and recipient the agreed arrangement and keep their phone numbers reachable. Live tracking helps your team follow the journey; electronic proof of delivery records the handover. Specify any additional record or notification your office needs rather than assuming a standard delivery record will satisfy every procedure.

Include returns and signatures in the original enquiry

If the papers need to come back, explain the return destination, expected waiting time and who will authorise their release. Transporting papers to a signer does not guarantee they will be signed immediately. A planned return journey is clearer than adding an unconfirmed extra task after arrival.

The quote depends on the route, timing, vehicle and any agreed waiting or additional stops. RGP Trans accepts card payments and bank transfer; payment arrangements and VAT are confirmed with the booking. A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Common questions

Can you deliver signed contracts on the same day?

We can assess a dedicated journey for sealed signed contracts. Give the collection-ready time, destination and receiving deadline; timing and availability are confirmed before booking.

Can you deliver court bundles?

Prepared, sealed court bundles can be assessed for transport to an agreed recipient. Court filing, process serving and checking compliance with a court procedure are not included unless a separate service has been expressly agreed.

Can the courier wait while documents are signed?

Describe the expected waiting time and return journey when enquiring. The team confirms the scope and price; the recipient’s availability and willingness to sign remain separate matters.

How should I package original documents?

Use protection appropriate to the paper format and quantity, keep pages together and close the package securely. Label the recipient and reference without exposing unnecessary confidential information.

Will I receive proof of delivery?

Electronic proof of delivery records the handover. Tell us before booking if your organisation needs a named recipient, a particular notification or another agreed record.

Can you collect from a shared office reception?

Provide the company, floor or department, collection reference and a person authorised to release the papers. Confirm reception access and the actual pickup entrance before dispatch.
